What is hymenoplasty?
The hymen is a thin membrane at the vaginal opening. It can stretch or tear through sport, injury, tampon use, intercourse or medical examination. Hymenoplasty is a short surgical procedure that repairs the hymen by bringing its edges together with fine dissolvable stitches.
It is done under local anaesthesia, usually takes 30–45 minutes, and you go home the same day.
